Triangle Arts Review is growing, and we're proud to welcome Anika Willis to our staff. Anika prefers to alternate gender pronouns, as may be evidenced by future writings and the bio below.
A 20 year old Wake Tech student, Anika has loved anything having to do with the arts since the beginning of high school. This person participated in the "behind the scenes" technical aspect of theatre all throughout high school, and that continued after he graduated. She spent a year and a half at Brigham Young University, where she started studying elementary education before transferring to Wake Tech. While at BYU, Anika spent a lot of time participating in the arts in different capacities, from simply watching shows, to ticket taking and ushering for events put on at the school, to being a lighting technician for various productions. Since returning to North Carolina in March, Anika hasn't had a lot of opportunity to directly participate in the arts, but is working at the PNC Arena, where handling sports events and and some concerts can be an art in and of itself. He is also planning to participate in whatever events might be happening at school while pursuing an elementary education degree. Anika's first assignment with TAR will be an interview with a cast member from North Carolina Theatre's upcoming production of In the Heights.
