When I did not get credentials to shoot Elton John when he performed in Raleigh NC, I purchased a ticket for the Greensboro show. That was two years ago…
Luckily Elton John cares more about his fans than retiring when Corona-19 hit. He did not have to keep his tour dates. He could have just went into retirement as planned 2 years ago.
I did not get photo credentials for this show either. But fans were allowed to bring in “nonprofessional” cameras. So I brought mine and did what I could for pictures for this review.
The show was incredible. No, you did not get Elton flying in the sky during Rocket Man or his is outlandish outfits of yesteryear. But you did get the music, the piano, the energy and voice of Elton John.
With over 50 years of writing and preforming, you knew every song Elton preformed. It must be so heartwarming to hear your fans singing along with you.
Elton was all smiles and told a few little story’s between songs. Staying engaged with the audience. Only doing a few outfit changes. His last for the encore was a lime green velvet bathrobe over his sweats. Looking ready for bed as I am sure he was.
I am so glad I held that ticket for 2 years. He is one of the iconic great performers of our time.
