ShaLeigh Dance Works is pleased to announce that its 2nd annual gala will be held at Reality Ballroom on December 7th at 7pm. Featuring inspiring guest speakers who create art with impact, the festive evening will include powerful performances, delicious wine tastings and hors d’oeuvres, a wellness raffle and silent auction, and an artist after-party! Tickets are now on sale and the company is in need of sponsors to expand their accessible outreach programs, living wages, and performance programming.
As an important event for the Company, Artistic Director ShaLeigh Comerford hopes to get plenty of sponsors on board: “We firmly believe that we make a huge difference to the lives of people in our community. But in order to raise the necessary funds, we need all the help we can get. It’s going to be a wonderful evening with some of Durham’s most passionate and diverse performing artists, and we’re looking forward to everyone’s love and support!” Comerford launched the company’s first full season one year ago, taking it from a pick up company to one that offers regular performances throughout the year, touring and outreach programming. This past year, the company produced 22 performances, 4 touring productions, 3 world premieres, 20 outreach classes, and 8 community workshops, among numerous other outreach initiatives. “As a choreographer turned business owner, I continue to envision and go beyond all that I have ever known,” Comerford explains. “These dancers and the work we are creating have so much potential. The gala will help raise enough money to bring our work and our outreach to an even higher level of excellence from which our community can benefit.” Friday, December 7th Reality Ballroom ShaLeigh Dance Works Fundraiser An Inspired World of Dance and Theatre www.ShaLeighDanceWorks.com/Revolutionaries ABOUT THE COMPANY ShaLeigh Dance Works, under the artistic leadership of ShaLeigh Comerford, celebrates its fourth season in North Carolina this year.
