Dirty Honey

@ The Ritz Raleigh, NC
April 5, 2022

This show was supposed to be a dual headliner with Dirty Honey following Mammoth with Wolfgang Van Halen.

Unfortunately a half hour before the show a media release was sent out informing us that Mammoth WVH was not performing. One of the road crew had tested positive for Corona. The band was canceling its next nine performances.

So the dual headliner became a one band show for the Ritz Raleigh. The Ritz or bands were nice in offering full ticket refunds for Mammoth WVH cancellation. The Ritz was still packed and Dirty Honey went on at 8:30 with an extended playlist.

I had first seen Dirty Honey as an opening act for Alter Bridge at the Ritz back in 2019. Their 60s, 70s sound showing a lot of Led Zeppelin influences. Singer Marc LaBelle also sporting the times classic crushed velvet suit and Fedora hat.

Dirty Honey has that good times feel to their music. Putting the roll back into rock and roll as the ladies can dance to it. There is a reason they were the first unsigned band in history to hit #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart with their song When I’m Gone on 2019. Also hitting #3 that year with Rolling 7s. People just like their vibe and they put on a great live show.

Current members:
* Marc LaBelle – lead vocals
* John Notto – guitar
* Justin Smolian – bass guitar
* Corey Coverstone – drums
